Perpetrators: The Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), an Islamist militant group, has engaged in a jihadist insurgency in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) since at least 2014. The eastern part of the DRC is home to more than 100 armed groups, some of whom specifically target Christians.
